In 2003, Hornick embarked on a mission to build a consulting engineering firm to deliver sound energy alternatives that would eliminate energy waste and improve operating income. If you are not measuring it, you are not effectively managing it. Energy efficiency means using less energy to get the same job done. It all begins with measurement, and it is all about improving the bottom line.
With over thirty years of experience in industrial sales and marketing, he has served as Southwest Regional Director for ECO, Inc. working for the National Rural Electric Cooperative in promoting alternative energy solutions that yield energy efficiency and conservation. His accomplishments include the development of cost studies in distributive generation, product design acceptance, and contract negotiations. He has testified before the Texas State Senate on the value and importance of independent energy alternatives that yield a reduction in energy cost. Prior to his entry into the electric cooperative market, he spent twenty plus years in the municipal utility market. Hornick was Southwest Director of sales and marketing for the Ethyl Corporation Pipe Products Division marketing the first large diameter PVC transmission pipe sold in the United States. His marketing included applications in water, wastewater, and turf irrigation to the Corps of Engineers, Bureau of Indian Affairs, U.S. Forest, City of Austin, Texas, Santa Fe, N.M., to name but a few. His marketing successfully led the product to becoming the national standard for municipal utility applications.
Hornick received awards from the Vice President of Engineering / Lockheed Corporation for his years of “Dedication and Contribution to the Improvement of Engineering Education.” and his training and development of cross disciplinary teams. The Sanno Management Institute in Tokyo, Japan published internationally his work on “Building High Commitment Engineering Teams.”
Chuck Hornick is a graduate of Texas Christian University & a U.S. Army Veteran
Larry Kramer has over 35 years of engineering experience in electric and gas utility relationships, energy management auditing, electricity procurement strategies, lighting evaluations, and facility automation system development and use.
He served as an Account Executive for the electric and gas utility, TXU, managing the operational relationships with commercial and industrial accounts. In this capacity, he supported customer’s energy management program implementations, developed redundant power supply strategies and coordinated all aspects of the utility/customer relationship. His consulting experience includes diversified projects such as development of a long-term energy procurement strategy for a multi-state manufacturer, an electricity supply contract with interruptible capabilities for a large cement manufacturer in a newly deregulated market, and a full lighting audit with an upgrade strategy for a conglomeration of commercial office buildings in downtown Fort Worth, Tx.
Larry’s experience also includes “end use” applications at DFW International Airport where he led and executed optimization programs and lighting upgrades as the Energy Engineer and managed the Airport’s HVAC and facility automations systems.
Larry is an active member in the North Texas Association of Energy Engineers, ASHRAE and IES-NA and has served in a number of leadership positions including Research Promotion, Scholarship, and Student Chapter committee chairs. He received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University and is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas. He also is a Certified Energy Manager by the Association of Energy Engineers.
